Built from Pleasure

Let your business nourish your life, instead of consuming it.

Free, eight minutes, result right away.

Most entrepreneurs build businesses that slowly suck the life out of them. I build one that gives back more than it takes.

You didn't start this to become an IT department. You started it from a vision: to make a difference and reach thousands. Now 80% of your time goes to tech. Let my systems carry that, so you can get back to your calling.

Same business idea. Different systems behind it.

After

  • A new idea fits into your business effortlessly
  • Your day off stays your day off, even when something snags
  • Three weeks of holiday, and you come back at full strength
  • Prices rise, and your clients come along
  • Your team runs even without you, and by the time someone talks to you they already want to buy

I build the structure that turns your energy into impact.

Winfried Ruhs

What is freed is not time. It's presence.

In the past three years we've been handed more leverage than in the three decades before. Work that needed an expensive team of twenty can be done today by one person in a few hours, if that person knows what they're doing.

Building a business today is like being handed a Ferrari. Right now, most people don't know how to handle that much horsepower with confidence. When Avianna and I first started out with AI, it felt like swerving all over the place: too far, too fast, a bit overwhelming. Since then I've put thousands of hours into one single thing, learning how to tame those horses and steer them exactly where they need to go. Now I hand that on, to visionary heart-led people who want to make the world better for all of us.

Right now another tool hits the market every week, and just deciding whether any of them is worth it drains you. Every week someone is shouting that you're missing out. That's what I'm here for. I test these tools, I play with them, and whatever proves itself I build into your business. So you stay at the front edge without getting bogged down in the tech that's supposed to be carrying you.

Everything that was never essential to being human will be taken care of by AI, and very soon. What makes most people cringe actually gives me HOPE. Soon no one will have to analyse, monitor or sort thought. Our humanity sits in what we create, dream and feel. And that is what will define the next generation of people who actually move something.

The real bottleneck is no longer the budget, and it is not time either. It is your capacity to create, dream and feel. Use AI only to get more done and you have built yourself a faster hamster wheel. Free space fills back up, it did with the washing machine and it did with email. Two economists ran the numbers in Denmark: 25,000 workers, two years after the tools arrived, and neither hours nor earnings had moved.

Steer it deliberately, and you get the most valuable thing back. What is freed is not time. It's presence, a clear head for what matters, and presence is what a life is made of.

What technology can't take over is the part that feels. Warmth towards someone who is having a hard time right now. Real gladness at a stranger's good fortune. Compassion that doesn't rush in to fix anything. And the steadiness when there is nothing to be done. That becomes the only thing that counts. We are leaving the age where people were predominantly occupied with surviving, and entering the one where we are predominantly occupied with thriving.

Thinking doesn't get lost in this, it changes sides. A machine has the answer faster, but it gets nothing out of understanding it. You do. I love the moment when something complicated suddenly goes simple, and I am not handing that moment to a machine. Understanding stops being a duty. It becomes a pleasure.

So I develop systems. Not so that you have more ticks on the list by evening. So that on a Tuesday morning in May there is room for an hour on the yoga mat, for a child who wants to tell you something, for the melody that just comes to you. And because the same clarity that comes out of it carries into the whole business.

How we use this now decides what world we live in tomorrow. There's a race on for these tools, and most of the people running in it are counting to the next quarter. I would rather it were won by people connected to love. That sounds large and it's meant soberly: the direction a technology takes is set by whoever uses it well first, and the rest follow. Which is why I work with you and not with the next software company.

It doesn't start with the world, though. It starts with you. A person who is genuinely well makes it easier for everyone who has to do with them, and joy is the most contagious thing we have. Which is why this isn't about just any business. It's about the business of your life.

It should still be beautiful here in a hundred years. For that, the right people need the better tools.

Stop buying programs that serve a tenth of your business.

Most agencies take on one piece. The funnel, or the mindset, or the ads, and everyone gets handed the same template. So you end up with one very good piece, and a business that looks like a thousand others competing for the same people. What that means for the other nine-tenths is up to you. Not your fault. Nobody was looking at the whole.

We take on the whole. Avianna gets you crystal clear on your market, your offer and the energy you run on. I build the systems that carry it. One coherent thing instead of five separate ones, and the two who design it also put it in place. We watch your load while we do it: a business that burns you out is a design fault, not a phase. So stop making somebody else's template fit you. Build something that is yours from the start.

Designed to thrive. Tell us where you stand and what matters to you.

Fifteen questions, eight minutes, and you get back the first sketch of your business, designed for you to thrive inside it. Free, no video course, no webinar.

Five people sitting on the boom of a sailing boat in the evening sun
My AI agents can't wait to get you on course.

Some people can name what feels heavy. Some can name which part of the structure is missing. Hardly anyone can name both, and only both together tell you what to build first.

The first question asks where you stand, and the path splits there. Starting out with a vision and no structure yet? You get the next steps that actually carry weight, in the order that sets you up. Already running something? You get the systems that free you up to do more of what you love, in your particular business rather than a generic one.

Most tests measure how well your business is running. This one also measures how far from you it is running. One of the questions asks whether there's work you love and have so far taken nothing for. Of all fifteen, that's the one whose answer changes the most.

It runs here on the page and you see the result straight away. Answer honestly and you get an analysis you can genuinely do something with.

If you're right at the beginning, the read isn't a preview of something bigger. It's complete, it's written for you, and it's a gift.

Which one are you? Is your next power move about energy, about structure, or about strategy?

I built it for my beloved first. Now I'm sharing what I learned.

This is Avianna McKee's business. She's also my partner, which means I see every day whether it nourishes her life or eats it.

We started from zero. No site, no offer, no list. Today a hundred women dance with her every week, she lives off this work alone, and she barely touches the tech. It's all public and live. Go and click through it.

A picture of the running systems.

And a six-figure entrepreneur whose entire technical side has been mine for years.

For Tobias Frank and his Thai Yoga training I have looked after and modernised the entire technical side for years. Event pages for the individual dates, freebie pages, and a complete booking system for the live trainings.

Different field, different person, different business. The work behind it is the same: I take the technology off his hands, so he can focus on actually being in the room with his students.

That's running right now too, and you can open it yourself as well.

I've been an entrepreneur since 2006.

Winfried Ruhs in 2006 in a bee suit, holding a frame covered in bees
Me in 2006, with my bees. Sales, marketing, production, all of it worked. It just all ran through me, and that's how I locked myself in. I loved the bees. I left anyway.

I started with a honey company straight out of university, spent a decade in the yoga and personal development world with three years running my own studio, and founded two non-profits. I've gone down more than once and got back up. Some of them I left because I had outgrown them. Not everything that ends has failed.

What I learned early, and painfully, is that a business you can't leave for a single day isn't a business. It's a workplace you can no longer walk out of.

So I build the other kind.

With those two you see the surface. Here you get behind it.

You can open Avianna's website and you can book her session. What you can't see is the area her members are in, and the window she works in herself. That's the part I build, and the part nobody ever gets to see.

So I built a demo you can walk through. A full member area and the admin window that goes with it, with a switch between the two. Top left you move between what your client sees and what you see.

Everything in it is invented: the names, the numbers, the dates. The functions are real, but they are examples from several clients rather than a copy of anyone's. Every business ends up looking completely different.

It isn't a template either. What you see belongs to an invented offer, and yours would get its own colors, its own screens, its own words.

No login, nothing to fill in, works on a phone.

Built in three days. Yours wouldn't take longer.

I advise at exactly one point. Everywhere else I build.

A consultant tells you what to do and leaves. An agency builds what you order, even when it doesn't hold. The one point where I advise comes before anyone picks up a tool: what gets built in your business, and in what order. Offer, positioning and price with Avianna and me in the room, then the machinery behind it with me.

The deciding is part of it, otherwise I would be the agency. From the inside the missing piece is usually invisible, simply because you're standing in it, so somebody has to look in from outside once before anything gets built. After that you get honest feedback before you spend three months walking into a dead end, and at the end of the week something exists, rather than a document about what should exist. What used to take a quarter now stands in days.

That leads to the one sentence you can hold me to: I don't build anything that makes you more replaceable. I only build what makes you more yourself.

And Avianna is there the whole way, because resistance is normal when you grow. Whether you get stuck, take a wrong turn and quit on yourself, or whether you keep moving, usually comes down to who is beside you in that week.

Built from Pleasure is meant literally. What you sell comes out of what you enjoy.

On the left spilled honey on a wooden table, on the right a piece of honeycomb
The same honey twice, just as sweet. On the left it runs off the table, on the right it sits in the comb. The sweet part deserves a structure worth keeping it in.

Most people build the other way round. First look at what the market takes, then talk yourself into it. That holds for two years and feels, in the third, like a job with worse hours.

There's a point in the Power Move Finder where most people stop typing for a moment. Suppose the whole thing runs: what are you doing on a Tuesday morning in May? Almost everyone writes down something they're already doing, just without anyone paying for it. That's where we start.

Joy isn't a soft criterion here, it's the most precise one I know. What you like doing, you also do on the second bad day, and the second bad day is where it gets decided whether anything comes of this. So I don't build around what you can stand. I build around what pulls you.

The commonest objection to this is that the effort is exactly what makes a person grow, and that you shouldn't let it be taken off your hands. That holds for one kind of effort and not for the other. There's the kind that pulls and the kind that pushes: what you keep working on when nobody is watching makes you grow; what you have to remind yourself about doesn't. Vishen Lakhiani calls it blissipline, discipline that comes out of joy rather than pressure. That line is where I decide what I take off your hands and what I leave with you.

Pleasure without structure dissipates. Give it a structure and the same energy turns into impact, and that impact feeds the motivation back. Structure without pleasure is what you walked away from.

Pleasure needs a structure that holds it. That's what I build, and faster than you think.

Two lists. The second one is the one that matters.

Where I'm not the right person

  • You're ready to sacrifice everything for profit. Then I'm not your person.
  • You are quietly looking for somewhere to hide. Familiar work that doesn't nourish you feels safer than this does.
  • You want someone to execute a plan you have already decided on. That's an agency, and a good one costs less than this.
  • You want me to build whatever you hand me, without us checking first whether it holds. An agency is the better choice for that.
  • You want to buy attention before anyone can say in one sentence what you sell and to whom.
  • You want to build something that makes you more replaceable instead of more yourself.
  • You love doing the tech all by yourself.
  • You want a number guaranteed in writing before you start.

Where I am

  • Your work is transformation, and you've been doing it long enough to know it holds.
  • There's work you love and have so far taken nothing for. That's the first thing I want to hear about.
  • Right now everything runs through you. And you want it to keep running when you step away.
  • You want the systems built, not explained to you in a call you take notes in.
  • You can take honest feedback, including the kind that isn't flattering.
  • You're ready to invest fully in yourself and in your business.
  • You are willing to walk through a few layers of fear. What is possible now leads to a life you would not have pictured, and that is unsettling before it is good.
  • You're starting from nothing. Then you work one to one with Avianna first on what your work even is, through aviannamckee.com, and we build the right thing after that.

Coaches, therapists, embodiment teachers, soulpreneurs. Some already earn their living from it, others have never written a single invoice for it. Both are in the right place here.

Three ways to work with me. All three start in the same place.

A strawberry plant in cross section: fruit above the soil, a wide root system below it
Most of a plant's first year happens underground, in roots no one sees. Then it grows faster than you expected, and by the end of the season it bears fruit. Pull it up halfway to check, and you start again from seed.

The Power Move Finder. Fifteen questions, eight minutes, free. You get it in writing: where you stand and what your next power move is.

The blueprint. Forty-five minutes with me, and afterwards on paper what gets built in your business and in what order. This is where the analysis goes deep, into your business rather than into a type.

Built from Pleasure. We build the whole thing together. The systems get built for you, and I'm beside you at every step and every decision along the way.

Whichever one you're after, the first step is the same. Even if you already know you want to work with me, we start with the Power Move Finder. It costs nothing, it takes eight minutes, and without it the other two would be guesswork.

No step gets skipped here. Not even by people in a hurry.

The business of your life.

Both readings are meant: the best one you have ever had, and one that comes out of your life instead of using it up.

You've read enough about it. Eight minutes from here, you know which part of your business is draining you and what to do about it first.
